REpower to supply 9 more turbines for Michigan wind farm

The wind-energy company REpower USA Corp. a subsidiary of German wind-turbine manufacturer REpower Systems AG, announced that in November 09 it has signed a contract to supply nine wind turbines for a Michigan wind-farm project.

The U.S. company has moved its headquarters from Portland, Oregon to Denver, Colorado in September 2009. REpower said in August that it plans to relocate or hire 25 employees for the Denver headquarters, and possibly double its staff in the course of one year.

REpower’s turbines will be used at the Stoney Corners II wind farm project near McBain, Michigan. The turbines are expected to be installed by the third quarter of 2010.

The contract with project developer Heritage Sustainable Energy LLC calls for REpower to initially deliver nine 2-megawatt MM92 wind turbines with a total output of 18.45 MW and an option for delivery of another 10 REpower turbines by September 2010.
